The Standard
What Makes an Open a TPT Open?
The TPT name stands for a consistent standard of competitive padel.
TPT-Approved Venue
Only venues approved by TPT may host an official TPT Open. The venue must meet TPT requirements for:
- Court condition
- Safety
- Lighting
- Nets
- Facilities
- Event capacity
TPT may inspect a venue before approval.
Competition-Ready Courts
All courts must be suitable for competitive play. Courts must:
- Have no significant dead spots
- Have no dangerous surface defects
- Have properly maintained playing surfaces
- Have properly functioning glass and fencing
- Have suitable lighting
- Have correctly maintained nets
Official TPT Tournament Ball
Every TPT Open must use the designated official TPT tournament ball. The official ball partner is displayed on every approved event.

R10,000 Minimum Prize Purse
Every official TPT Open must offer a minimum total prize purse of:
R10,000
Higher prize purses can be offered, and the event page prominently displays the actual prize purse.
Official TPT Format
Every TPT Open must follow the approved TPT tournament format. This includes:
- Division structure
- Player eligibility
- Match format
- Draw structure
- Tournament scheduling
- Match rules
- Result submission
Official TPT Event Branding
Approved TPT Opens must use the official TPT Open identity, including approved use of:
- TPT logo
- Event logo treatment
- TPT colours
- Event signage
- Digital event artwork
Organisers may not alter the TPT logo or create their own version of the TPT Open identity.
The TPT Open Court Kit
Bring the TPT identity onto the court. The Court Kit is part of the official TPT event experience — a professional event package for approved venues.
Signature Asset
TPT Net Tape
The TPT logo on the top net tape — subtle and premium. In photographs and live play it quietly communicates one thing: this is a TPT Open.
Provided to approved venues as an official event asset.

Court Number Signs
Branded court identification across every playing court.

TPT Event Flags
High-quality flags to bring the TPT identity to your venue.

Sponsor Boards
Approved sponsor and event-partner branding around the courts and venue.

Tournament Desk
Official TPT event presentation at the control point.

Photo Backdrop
TPT-branded photography wall for winners and social content.
TPT can supply official event assets to approved venues.
Official Event Management
Every TPT Open must have an identified person responsible for tournament management.
TPT-operated events: TPT manages the tournament.
TPT-sanctioned events: the approved organiser is responsible for tournament management.
TPT may require an approved Tournament Director / Event Official depending on event size.
Results Submitted to TPT
Following the event, the organiser must submit the required:
- Final results
- Division results
- Player information
- Event information
- Prize information where applicable
This allows TPT to maintain an official event record — simple event administration and record keeping.
TPT Approval Required
A tournament may only use the name TPT Open or official TPT Open branding after approval from TPT.
A venue or organiser may not independently create an event and label it a TPT Open without approval. This is a critical brand-protection rule.
